Social Media Addiction

             
79% smartphone user immediately use their smartphone as they get up in the morning.They don't find brushing the teeth and talking to someone at home or close ones important or necessary in front of checking their mobile notifications.We must accept the fact that these big companies has made us addictive towards their product and we people have been hooked trapped and became addictive to this social media platforms.We use cell phones thinking that only for few minutes will be using it but end up with wasting 3-4 hours on it regardless.
But why this happens why we people are so addictive to internet social media platforms and for games e.t.c.Today we will come to know the secret and techniques of all these things.
    Recently i went through a post on Facebook where it was shown like EA Games Company will charge money for need to speed no limit game petrol which will be used under the game to drive.And on this post many people are commenting how people can pay for virtual things like paying for petrol that too which will be providing under game,how people can be that stupid e.t.c.But actually its nothing new since big companies are earning a lot or million by selling virtual things under games.Hence,here your question shouldn't be like how people can be so stupid instead it should be how companies are so smart and earning millions through selling virtual things,how people get addictive so much to their products because of which people not only give their time but also agrees to pay for it?
The biggest reason because of which we spend hours using internet is nothing new but our habits.All the work we do regularly 40 percent work is done on the basis of our habits and by understanding it well and with the use of this technique big companies able to manipulate us.This technique is known as hook system.This system passes through three phases-
1)Trigger-The way key is needed to start a car similarly to start hook cycle there is a need of trigger,it tells people what should be their next actions,it works as a reminder,and after getting it people remembered about companies product and they start using it.For e.g-when people gets a notification of any youtube video,after watching that notification video people started watching other videos.
2)Action-before whatsapp there were many messaging app through which we can send messages to our contact.But the things which creates difference and which made whatsapp such a huge hit was whatsapp simplicity.Whatsapp is not only simple but is very easy to use app,for using whatsapp user have to take simple and easy actions and steps at start.After trigger the second most important step to form a habit is action,without action habit can't be formed.
3)Investment-You have ever thought why video games are so addictive,why people play it so many times.The reason why they get hooked up so hard because while playing it people invest a lot in a game.If you think like investment for what?usually video games are free.So,well investment is nit always about money but people invest their time energy while increasing their achievements in order to increase their level.They invest so much of time energy and effort that it becomes difficult for them to leave that game and they keep playing it.Similarly,it is same with the social media people invest so much of their time to make their profile better,to make connections with whom they want to connect,e.t.c.For example-as people get into Facebook they start investing to it,they start increasing their friend list,they start filling their profile and start uploading pics and other things on it,all these things are kind of investment,even in mail sites whenever person use mails like yahoo or gmail all important mail which user receive start getting saved and the more user start getting dependent and never switch to other sites.

Solution-as we all know that we are used to of this habit very badly and it is very hard or next to impossible for some people to quit this addiction.So instead of totally seizing up this habit what we can do is replace it with reprogamming.Whenever you have a desire to check your phone so instead of doing it,do something which is productive and helpful for you.You can also use social media platforms as a dose of reward after some productive work.For e.g-suppose if you have an assignment project to complete and simultaniously you have a desire to scroll Facebook what you can say to yourself is i m going to accomplish my assingment and then will use facebook for 20 minutes or for more depending upon individual situations.
Our life run through 24*7 mobile notifications and we have forget to be present in real world.It is damaging our potential very badly.Limit your addiction otherwise you are going to regret forever.
